PADI WRECK DIVER SPECIALTY

You drift down and pass through a window into the past. As you near the bottom, a recognizable shape begins to form. First, you see a straight line, then a round window. Next, a ship materializes in front of you. As you look at the wreck, past and the present meet.

Whether sunk intentionally or tragically, whether a sunken ship, a plane or an automobile, the call of wrecks is nearly irresistible to divers. Through this Specialty course, you get the skills, knowledge and procedures you need to answer the call of wreck diving.

Explore the past in the present with the Wreck Diver Specialty course.

Why PADI Wreck Diver?

The lure of exploring sunken vessels, airplanes and automobiles is something most divers can't resist. This PADI Specialty course introduces you to wreck diving and helps you develop the skills and knowledge necessary for safe and fun wreck diving.

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Adventure Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 years old

What will I do?

Information contained in your wreck diver program includes:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving
  • The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels
  • Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures

How long will it take?

  • Recommended Course Hours: 24
  • Minimum Open Water Training: four dives over two days

What will I need?

  • Specialty-Pak, which includes manual, video and log insert

Where can I go from here?

Your Adventures In Diving Wreck Adventure Dive may count towards this Specialty certification at instructor discretion. This Specialty certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for your Master Scuba Diver certification.

* Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 metres/130 feet from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 metres/60 feet), the PADI Deep Dive Specialty rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the Wreck Diver program.

Accommodation on Samui ranges from simple moderately priced beach bungalows for 500 Baht per night with shower & fan up to medium priced Resorts with Air-con rooms with en suite toilet & bathroom priced 1200 - 2000 Baht per night.

We can help you find a self catering Bungalow for between 8000 - 12000 Baht per month, equipped with cooking facilities and living room. For your arrival on Samui, we are pleased to provide complimentary transfer to your resort and provide information on the local area.
