Specialty of the Month Information
If you’re an Open Water Diver and unsure which specialties you’d like to try, the Advanced Open Water Diver course is a great way to sample PADI Specialty courses. In general, any certified Open Water Diver can take PADI Specialty Diver courses.
Some specialty courses, such as Deep Diver and Wreck Diver require an Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
Specialty courses and becoming a Master Scuba Diver
To achieve your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating - PADI’s highest nonprofessional diver rating which denotes superior achievement - you’ll need five PADI Specialty Diver certifications. So join in the fun with other likeminded enthusiasts and use PADI’s Specialty of the Month to help you earn your Master Scuba Diver rating.
