PADI Course Director
PADI Course Directors
are instructor trainers who conduct PADI IDC's and other Instructor-level training, holding the highest and most respected rating in recreational scuba diving. Those who join this elite group of professionals pass through a stringent screening process that examines their experience and training just to get into the demanding, intense two week Course Director Training Course.
Reach for the top in the recreational dive industry.
Camille holds the CD rating since April 2003 when he participated in the CDTC in Kota Kinabulu, Malaysia where he received his training.
In the beginning of 2009 Camille has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Course Director rating by PADI, for a third consecutive year running, the highest rating a PADI Course Director can achieve. A rating received by less than 49 of all PADI Course Directors worldwide and even less that work in a prestigious PADI CDC Center.
New CD's who gained experience as IDCS Instructors by working
with Camille during his IDC programs include in Hong Kong;
Craig Allery in the United Arab Emirates; Ernst van
der Poll and in Canada; Jean-François Joly.
The Course Director level is the pinnacle of the PADI System of diver education, representing less than one percent of all PADI Members. Course Director hopefuls submit an application for acceptance into one of two annual CDTC. From almost 200 applications submitted each year only about 70 participants are selected to attend the two week long Course Director Training Course (CDTC).
The CD rating is the equivalent of having a postgraduate degree in scuba diving instruction, there is not a more prestigious level of certification within the dive industry. Course Director's are the only people who may conduct the IDC needed to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
