How can I get to Koh Samui?

There are various ways of getting to Samui from Bangkok; by bus, by train and probably easiest, by plane;

By bus;

There are regularbuses running from the Southern bus terminal in Bangkok directly to Samui.

You can also book tickets to Samui from Khao San road in Bangkok.

By train;

From Bangkok you can take a train to Surat Thani train station, where touts will be waiting to sell you tickets to the ferry piers to Samui.

By plane;

Regarding flights to Samui, Bangkok Air had the sole and exclusive rights to fly to Koh Samui but recently Thai Air has added two daily flights between Bangkok and Samui.

Note that the first and the last flight of the day have special rates, almost 50% cheaper than the standard rate.

Many domestic destinations, like Phuket, are connected to Samui by Bangkok Air as well.

There are also direct flights between Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Penang to Samui.

Upon arrival at Samui airport we will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation on Koh Samui.

Accommodation on Samui ranges from simple moderately priced beach bungalows for 500 Baht per night with shower & fan up to medium priced Resorts with Air-con rooms with en suite toilet & bathroom priced 1200 - 2000 Baht per night.

We can help you find a self catering Bungalow for between 8000 - 12000 Baht per month, equipped with cooking facilities and living room. In fact most of our Divemaster / IDC Candidates staying for extended periods select this option, some have even found decent rooms for less than 8000 Baht , although you would need to rent and ride a small moped (90cc) to get around which costs approximately 3500 Baht per month. For your arrival on Samui, we are pleased to provide complimentary transfer to your resort and provide information on the local area.
